A Terrible Way to Lose Weight
We talk to people every day who have been struggling for years to lose weight and just can’t seem to make it happen.
Most have tried every diet you can think of and have beaten up their bodies so badly with exercise routines, they are walking in our door with all kinds of injuries.
I hear about really high-intensity workouts, that end with you laying on the floor gasping for air. Then being so sore for the next few days that you can barely walk around.
People tell me about super restrictive diets, that leave you feeling hungry all day and even light headed at times. Some of the plans only allow you to drink shakes for extended periods.
Sure these types of programs will get some short term results, but none of it ever sounds sustainable.
A good training program should be challenging, but also have you walking out of the gym feeling better than when you walked in.
Sure, you might have a little muscle soreness from training, but not enough to keep you from coming back the next day for another great session.
Improving your nutrition doesn’t have to be a negative or restrictive experience either. We like to focus on increasing the amount of healthy foods someone is eating, as opposed to just cutting things out.
The bottom line is if you want to lose weight and keep it off for the long run, start looking for programs that are geared toward improving your health, not beating you down. It will only work in the long run, if it is sustainable for the long term.
